CCVA Humanities Lab Courses

Cultivating Civic Virtues through Action (CCVA) Humanities Lab courses combine the collaborative, problem-focused approach of the Humanities Lab with an intentional focus on civic character development. These team-taught, interdisciplinary courses invite you to grapple with pressing social challenges while exploring the virtues essential for engaged citizenship and democratic life.

Through original research, community partnerships and collaborative inquiry, you'll move beyond asking theoretical questions and start to develop practical skills in ethical reasoning and civic leadership.

You should consider enrolling in a CCVA Humanities Lab course if you want to:

  • connect academic learning with real-world civic engagement
  • work alongside students from different majors and class years on challenges that matter to you
  • develop your capacity for ethical decision-making and civic action
  • explore how humanities perspectives can lead to more thoughtful approaches to social problems

Students interested in ethics, community engagement, leadership and making a positive impact in their communities will find these courses especially rewarding.

*Note: Courses will be ready for enrollment in late February / early March.
