Digital Humanities Summer Institute Fellowship

Digital Humanities Summer Institute Fellowship

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until February 28, 2025.

About the Summer Institute

The Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI) is an annual digital scholarship training institute held at the Université de Montréal. Every summer, DHSI brings together faculty, staff, and students from the arts, humanities, library, and archives communities as well as independent scholars and participants from areas beyond.

DHSI provides a community-based environment for discussing and learning about new technologies and how they influence teaching, research, creation, and preservation in different disciplines. Around 800-900 participants attend this time of intensive coursework, seminars, and lectures, where participants share ideas and methods as well as develop expertise in advanced technologies.

About the Fellowship

As a partner institution of the Digital Humanities Summer Institute, the DHI will offer tuition fellowships to the institute. Every year, the DHI will sponsor five scholars to represent ASU at DHSI and attend one course of their choosing. Fellowships will cover the cost of tuition for one course; we encourage awardees to apply for travel bursaries directly via DHSI. This partnership is part of our Digital Humanities Initiative (DHI) commitment to professional development, training, and networking.

How to Apply

Applications will need to write a brief statement of 350 words or less as to how DHSI will help further develop their current scholarship, emerging digital project, or interest in digital humanities. Statements should include a description of current scholarly interests related to digital humanities/digital scholarship and/or any projects that will be enhanced by attending DHSI. We strongly encourage that applicants that identify specific skills, methods, or frameworks that will be enhanced by attending DHSI.

Note: If the skills or knowledge to be gained at DHSI will be used to complete a thesis, dissertation, or for promotion/tenure projects, include this information in your application.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until February 28, 2025.
