How are disempowered or under-resourced communities negotiating the constraints and shortcomings of social media—particularly those produced by racial capitalism—to create pockets of solidarity, change, and social action?
This project, a 2023 NEH grant recipient for the Dangers and Opportunities of Technology program, takes community-based understandings of algorithms as a starting point for co-creating a shared vocabulary across university-community partnerships.
